Some of the things you'll learn in this academy:

CPR

 CPR is something that we will spend a lot of  time on. Showing you the HHH CAB steps to successfully administering CPR to someone that is in cardiac arrest.

Asthma

We will cover asthmatic attacks and how to assist a friend at school should they need aid.

Choking

You will learn how to remove partial and full obstructions and how to assist different kinds of people (adults, infants, pregnant women and yourself).

Meet your presenter

Margot Hossel

I am an English, Social Sciences and Geography teacher at Sutherland High School. I also have a passion for First Aid and equipping learners with important information that they can use in a medical emergency. I believe that First Aid knowledge promotes the sense of safety and well being amongst people and is a valuable skill that every individual should benefit from.

Red Blazer Information

The First Aid academy is a compulsory requirement for anyone who wishes to complete the Red Blazer programme. This academy equips learners with the basic first aid skills that they need in emergency situations. Once you have completed and watched each module, you will need to complete a test. You will need to receive 75% for each test in order to pass.
